Big Ben - Parliament |
One of the London's postcards, symbol of British punctuality, The Parliament was designed by architect Charles Barry to replace the old one. It is one of the most beautiful architectural complexes of the city, especially at night. It is undoubtedly the most sought after and visited attraction. We were there every day and took pictures every time. It is beautiful and exciting to be there!
The clock tower where the great bell Big Ben is situated, was completed in 1859, after a fire that destroyed the Westminster Palace in 1834 and celebrated 150 years on July 11, 2009. It soon became the most famous part of the building.
Only when we arrived in front of the Big Ben we believed we are in London. The building complex is very beautiful and it is always crowded with a quite intense traffic of cars and buses.
